Terms and conditions for Melville Guest House

  1. Bookings of fewer than 2 nights at weekends, 3 nights during July and August and 4 nights over New Year may not be accepted by Melville Guest House. Please check by e-mail before making a booking which does not match these minimum requirements.
  2. We take most major credit cards via paypal online payment.
  3. If you cancel your booking within 3 weeks of your agreed arrival date or fail to show up we will charge one night to your credit card. We would expect that you would have travel insurance to cover this eventuality. If you do not have travel insurance and you live in the UK or any other EU country, may we suggest that you contact MRL Insurance.   4. If you cancel prior to 3 weeks before your confirmed arrival date, then there is no charge (other than the non-refundable deposit).

  5. It is a condition of booking that you agree to pay for any damage caused by anyone in your party and for the professional cleaning of carpets and curtains if anyone in your party smokes anywhere in the Guest House.
  6. A booking is not confirmed until you have received an e-mail confirmation direct from Melville Guest House. This will normally be received within 24 hours.
  7. The maximum capacity of a single room is one person, and of a double room or a twin room is two people. Children count as whole people.

  9. Check in is between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. unless prior arrangements are made.
  10. Melville Guest House operates under Scottish Law.
