Getting to Edinburgh and The Melville Guest House just couldn't be easier. Either click on the google map and plot your journey by road from door to door, or follow the directions below.

By road from the East and South (east coast routes)

Drive up the A1, past the turn-off for the Edinburgh by-pass (Old Craighall Junction). Go straight on at the roundabout and turn left at the next traffic lights, signposted to Edinburgh City Centre. We are half a mile along on the left, just past the end of the park on your right (two houses before the next set of traffic lights).

By road from the North, West & South (west coast routes)

Take the Edinburgh by-pass to the A1 exit (Old Craighall Junction) and turn left on the A1 towards Edinburgh. Go straight on at the roundabout and turn left at the next traffic lights, signposted to Edinburgh City Centre. We are half a mile along on the left, just past the end of the park on your right (two houses before the next set of traffic lights).

By plane:

From the Edinburgh Airport you can either take a taxi or a bus. A taxi will cost you about 20 pounds.

If you want to take a bus, take an airline bus all the way to the end of its route in the centre of Edinburgh (Waverley Bridge). Once in the centre of town, go to Princes Street and take a 44 bus from outside Marks and Spencer. Ask to be let off at the stop just after the intersection of Milton Road West and Mountcastle Drive. The stop is just before the Omni Furniture Store and the journey will take about 15 minutes.

If you are picking up a car and driving from the airport, follow the signs to Edinburgh City Centre until you reach the City By-pass (A720). Take the By-pass (South and East) to the A1 exit (Old Craighall Junction) -- do not leave the bypass until you get to the A1. Turn left on the A1 towards Edinburgh. From the train station (Edinburgh Waverley) you can either take a taxi or a bus. The taxi rank is inside the station and it will cost you about 9 pounds.
